360014 Jüdische und christliche Apokalypsen (BS) (SoSe 2019)

"Dies ist die Offenbarung Jesu Christi, die ihm Gott gegeben hat, seinen Knechten zu zeigen, was in Kürze geschehen soll; und er hat sie gedeutet und gesandt durch seinen Engel zu seinem Knecht Johannes" (Offb 1,1). Dieser Vers stammt aus der bekanntesten christlichen Apokalypse, der Johannesoffenbarung. Doch neben dieser entstanden zahlreiche andere – jüdische wie auch christliche – Apokalypsen in der Antike. Allen ist v.a. gemeinsam, dass sie eine göttliche Offenbarung vermitteln sollen. Diese kann, muss sich aber nicht auf ein Weltende beziehen. Die Apokalypsen des antiken Judentums und Christentums sind sehr vielfältig. Sie sind zwar wenig bekannt, weil der Großteil nicht in der Bibel auftauchen, doch sind sie umso wichtiger für das Verständnis des frühen Judentums und des frühen Christentums. In diesem Seminar sollen Beispiele solcher Apokalypsen näher betrachtet werden.
