Sportliche Events gewinnen zunehmend an Bedeutung. Es gibt kaum noch einen Sportwettkampf, der sich nicht selbst als Event stilisiert oder von anderen als solcher bezeichnet wird. Nicht nur Sportvereine, Schulen oder Träger der Jugendarbeit nutzen derartige sportliche Veranstaltungen zur Selbstdarstellung, sondern mittlerweile auch vermehrt Wirtschaftsunternehmen oder öffentliche Organisationen.
Im Rahmen des Seminars wird u. a. folgenden Fragen nachgegangen: Was sind die Charakteristika von Events? Wie werden diese strategisch bzw. operativ geplant? Welche Instrumente der Eventsteuerung kommen zum Einsatz? Welche Elemente des Events sind für die Teilnehmer bzw. die Zuschauer von besonderer Bedeutung? Welche Bedürfnisse und Motive der Zuschauer und Besucher werden durch die Events angesprochen? Nach welchen Prinzipien sind Events zeitlich, räumlich und inhaltlich auszurichten, um den größtmöglichen Erfolg, d. h. ein nachhaltiges Erlebnis, zu erreichen?
Das Seminar versucht diese Fragen psychologisch, soziologisch und vor allem betriebswirtschaftlich zu beantworten. Das Ziel des Seminars ist es, ein theoretisches Wissen aufzubauen, mit dem dann Sportevents sowohl analysiert als auch strategisch konzeptionell geplant werden können. Die Veranstaltung beinhaltet daher auch den Besuch von Sportevents.
