Through this module, students will develop an in-depth understanding of several key concepts in evolutionary ecology (e.g. natural selection, sexual selection, life-history evolution, speciation and evolutionary conflicts). Participants will receive introductory lectures on the selected topics, but the major focus will be on work in small groups to develop a deeper understanding of each topic. This small-group work will be delivered through a combination of problem-based exercises and learning to read and critically evaluate the primary scientific literature, culminating in a group discussion of the important concepts and ideas. The module will be delivered in both German and English.
