Das Internet ist innerhalb weniger Jahre zu einem vielfältigen Raum sozialer Kontakte und Kommunikation geworden. Obwohl die Besonderheiten der digitalen Kommunikation sehr früh vor allem qualitativ arbeitende Linguist*innen und Soziolog*innen interessiert hat, stoßen die traditionellen qualitativen Forschungsansätze doch immer wieder an ihre Grenzen. Dies liegt zum einen an den Besonderheiten des Internets, zum anderen an einer sich noch im stetigen Wandel befindlichen Online-Kommunikationskultur, die ständig neue Formen des sozialen Austauschs hervorbringt. In diesem Seminar soll diese Kommunikation aus einer ethnomethodologisch-konversationsanalytischen Perspektive erörtert werden. Wir werden uns mit verschiedenen Studien und ihren zugrundeliegenden Konzepten auseinandersetzen, um eine eigene Form des Zugangs zur Online-Kommunikation zu entwickeln. Sie werden in Kleingruppen ein eigenes Forschungsprojekt zur Kommunikation im Netz entwerfen und durchführen. Die erhobenen Daten werden wir gemeinsam im Kurs analysieren. Sie erwerben damit Fähigkeiten in allen Phasen eines qualitativen Forschungsprozesses und üben intensiv die analytische Denkweise ein, die mit der ethnomethodologischen Konversationsanalyse zusammenhängt.

Grundlagenkenntnisse der qualitativen Methoden. Bereitschaft, in einer Arbeitsgruppe ein eigenes Forschungsprojekt zu entwickeln, durchzuführen und die erhobenen Daten zur gemeinsamen Analyse bereitzustellen.
