Applied Linguistics is an essential component of university level language study, bridging the field of practical use of language in authentic and didactic contexts on the one hand with the scientific study of language form and function, including conversational language, scientific language, literary language, the role of language in the electronic media, sign language, and problems of language pathology.
The content of the course includes the following topics:
Credit
The students are expected to do the reading assignment and participate actively in class. Credit for this class can be gained on the basis of regular attendance, in-class project work, and a final written exam.
