392171 Algorithms in English (S) (SoSe 2009)

This seminar has two goals: To learn more about algorithms, and to
practice the reading and oral abilities in the English language.

Based on textbook chapters or original research papers, the participants
will give oral presentations and write short summaries (both in English)
about recent algorithmic problems and their solutions.

Suggested topics can be from all areas in algorithmics, for example:

  • Biological algorithms
  • Compression algorithms
  • Distributed algorithms
  • Geometrical algorithms
  • Mobile algorithms
  • Optimization algorithms
  • String algorithms
  • Combinatorial algorithms
  • Cryptographic algorithms
  • Game algorithms
