Das Seminar ist Teil einer zweisemestrigen Veranstaltungsreihe, in der je ein Semester lang qualitative und quantitative Forschungsansätze erarbeitet werden. Der Besuch der Veranstaltungen entspricht dem Besuch des IMK I und II.
Im Sommersemester werden wir uns mit qualitativen Methoden beschäftigen. In einem ersten Schritt wird eine Charakterisierung der qualitativen Sozialforschung in Abgrenzung zu den quantifizierenden Ansätzen vorgenommen. In einem nächsten Schritt werden Anwendungsfelder qualitativer Forschungsmethoden vorgestellt, woran sich eine wissenschaftstheoretische Einbindung des qualitativen Forschungsparadigmas anschließt.
Abschließend werden einzelne Methoden und Techniken der qualitativen Forschungsrichtung dargestellt, um einen Überblick über das zur Verfügung stehende Instrumentarium der qualitativen Sozialforschung zu erleichtern.
Die Veranstaltung ist den Bereichen A und C zugeordnet.
