This course is a seminar that introduces international agreements and treaties in relation to intellectual property rights including patents, copyrights and other rights. It presents the enforcement of the Agreement on Trade- Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) and other binding treaties of the World Trade Organization (WTO) as well as international human rights related treaties. Challenges placed by the enforcement of intellectual property rights in developing countries with a special focus on intellectual property rights history and impact in India will also be discussed and relevant case studies will be highlighted.
The number of participants in this seminar is limited to 15 students and the main outlines and topics will be introduced in the introduction lecture.
