Vermittelt wurden Kenntnisse zu biologisch relevanten molekularen Wechselwirkungen und thermodynamischen Triebkräften, zur Synthese, Modifikation und Regulation von Proteinen in der Zelle, zum Aufbau und zu den Funktionen von Biomembranen, zum Transport an Biomembranen im elektrochemischen Gradienten, zur Energiekonversion und zum Energiestoffwechsel, zur Photosynthese und Respiration und exemplarisch zur Regulation auf den Ebenen der metabolischen Kontrolle sowie durch posttranslationale und langfristig durch transkriptionelle Mechanismen.
