- Short Description
Measuring the electric field generated by *weakly electric fish* requires
precise positioning of probes in relation to the fish. This project aims to
leverage the high temporal resolution of *event based vision sensors* to track
fish during experiments. This tracking information will be used to control the
positioning of a *three axis gantry* fitted with an electric probe.
This project will be conducted in collaboration with the *Active Sensing* group of the biology department.
- Required skills
Familiarity with a "fast" programming language (e.g. C/C++,Rust,Haskell,etc) is needed due to the real-time aspect of this project. Experience with the following devices is preferred but not necessary: event based vision sensors (e.g. DVS128, ATIS), three axis gantries (i.e. 3d printers).
Please note that the teams will be selected by the supervisors on the basis of short applications that students are expected to send to them. Registering to the project in the ekVV will only be regarded as expression of interest; it will not secure a team membership.
Please get in touch with the supervisors for information on the application procedure.
