Understanding Asia is a recurrent lecture series of the AB Sociology of Transnationalisation and Social Anthropology. Broadly defined, it seeks to introduce research on social transformations in Asia through lectures by established and emerging scholars based in institutions in Germany and around the world. The series has a particular thematic focus each semester.
