Data analysis in the social science is an iterative and complex process which involves developing a good understanding of the particular data at hand and how to extract reproducible knowledge from it. In this study group we want to focus and share techniques on how to properly conduct data analysis in such a setting. Participants will have the opportunity to present what they are currently working on, not only by showing some slides, but rather by showing their research code (don't worry, it can be as messy as you want, otherwise it would not be research code!) and discussing their thoughts and choices (researcher degrees of freedom anyone?) on the matter with others. In this way, one can hopefully have some exchange and receive input and feedback on parts of the research process, which are usually not highlighted in scientific exchange formats to improve ones quality of work and data analysis skills.
