Wie lassen sich wesentliche Strukturmerkmale moderner Gesellschaften wie Geschlechterverteilung, Bevölkerungsentwicklung und soziale Stratifikation mit digitalen Methoden qualitativ und quantitativ erfassen und vor allem: historisch deuten?
Dieses Seminar führt in digitale Methoden ein, die ein tieferes Verständnis moderner Gesellschaften und ihrer Analyse ermöglichen. Neben den wissenschaftstheoretischen Grundlagen wird der Umgang mit digitalen Werkzeugen zur Datenaufbereitung und -auswertung eingeübt. In einem Kleingruppenprojekt werden die erlernten Methoden, theoretischen Grundlagen und Werkzeuge eigenständig an einem historischen Beispiel in der Praxis angewendet.
Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an alle, die einen empirischen Zugang zur Geschichtswissenschaft erhalten und ihre methodischen Kompetenzen erweitern möchten.
