This course brings together approaches to experimental phonetics and laboratory phonology. Each session will be divided into two parts:
Discussion of a theoretical issue
Analysis of relevant case study(ies)
The aim of this course is to develop an understanding of the current issues in the field using case studies. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in class discussions.
Good understanding of the basic tenets of phonetics and phonology.
The relevant literature will be provided in the course outline in the first meeting for the course.
