A key part of the course is weekly in-class online group writing exercises using Epads which are guided and supervised by the teacher.
A homework script will be used for weekly exercises in grammar and English writing techniques, covering the key elements of good English writing: exercises in advanced writing including use of subordinate conjunctions, parallel structures, and participle phrases.
- The final focus of the course will be 2 major writing projects: a short story analysis and a news article summary which compares two sides of a topic.
Regular participation in the weekly class sessions is required plus the completion of a portfolio of assigned writing projects are required.
Genauere Informationen zu Umfang, Dauer und Anforderungen werden den Teilnehmern zu Beginn der Veranstaltung mitgeteilt.

This course is open to all levels, but the level of English B2 is recommended.
Usually the course "Academic Writing in English II" is taken following completion of the course "Academic Writing in English I."
- However, students with previous English writing experience -- including those who have taken an English writing course involving feedback and the rewriting of texts based on teachers' notes -- may take this course without having taken Writing I.
In this course you will learn skills that you can use throughout your career to not only write well, but also to continually improve the quality of your writing.
English writing uses specific structures and organizational techniques that are often different from other languages, including German. This course will explain and provide advanced knowledge of how English is constructed and organized, as well as teach you the most important writing and analysis methods which professional writers use.
Regular participation in the weekly class sessions is required. Because of the high amount of in-class exercise and workshop writing, if a student misses more than 20% of the class meetings, an extra writing project will be required to prove proficiency in the techniques covered during the class sessions
