The seminar introduces to methods and conceptual frameworks of comparative analysis. Subject of the seminar is the international development of democracy. Students are asked to be ‘godparent’ of both one country within the OECD world and one ‘developing’ country. The seminar is aimed to discuss the measurement of democracy and the factors explaining the its international spread.
