Weekly class participation in the exercises and discussions are key to developing good writing skills and completing the course, and it is through these that the students' writing skills will be developed and improved. Also, it is important for the student to have a basic understanding that the writing conventions and thought-processes common to English writing and text-analysis are in some significant ways different from German.
In addition to weekly class participation, the successful completion of short-term exercises and writing projects, as well as 2-3 final writing projects are essential to the course. Please note that a writing course such as this one typically requires 1-2 hours outside writing and homework per week.
