All AILT (Analyz(s)ing and Interpreting Literary Texts) classes are accompanied by an optative tutorial. You are strongly advised to make time for this tutorial, however, because it offers you the opportunity to revise the course material under the guidance of a tutor (usually a student in a higher BA/MA semester), who will also take the time to help you plan and write your essays/portfolios. This is an excellent preparation not just for the Studienleistungen in AILT but also for the module exam and for the profile modules to come; many students have found that the tutorial gave them the support and guidance they needed in their first semesters. You may also find that you feel more relaxed in the tutorial than in class; it is a good place to make friends, ask questions, and form study groups.
In this tutorial, we will revise the basics of U.S. American literary studies as they are being introduced in your AILT class. We will continue to study the use of the key terms and methods from the class and analyze poetry, drama/film, and narrative respectively. We will then use the terms and write!!!
