Students who speak completely fluent, natural English and can use English with absolute assurance in any situation, including academic discussions and presentations, may apply for an interview, as a result of which - if the interviewer judges their performance to warrant it - they will be granted an exemption from the "Speaking" course in BM1.
This option is aimed above all at those students who have spent roughly a year abroad in an English-speaking country, are English-German bilinguals or have partly grown up in an English-speaking environment. Generally speaking, students who were simply good at English at school or who have lived in an English-speaking environment for under 8 months do not perform well enough to be exempted, so please do not inquire about this option unless you are convinced that you fit the profile of an exemption candidate.
