300662 Ring Lecture Series: Decolonizing Anthropology: a self-critical appraisal of the current state of research and teaching (V) (WiSe 2023/2024)

Contents, comment

In this digital ring lecture series, students and teachers of anthropology in Austria, Switzerland and Germany are invited to reflect on the colonial past of their discipline, to discuss genealogies of anti-colonial knowledge production, as well as to engage with current attempts at reappraisal and, in particular, to explore new forms of global cooperation. The lecture is jointly organized by departments of anthropology in German-speaking areas and is aimed at students of all qualification levels (BA, MA students, PhD students) as well as researchers and teachers. It enables teachers and students to learn from each other, to get to know each other better, and to consider together what a decentered anthropology might look like.

All the sessions will be conducted via Web-ex; the link for the whole semester is: https://mpi-eth.webex.com/mpi-eth/j.php?MTID=mfd94a7602ab76b9a10972c6113220203
