270007 Offline-Onlinefreundschaften: Die entwicklungspsychologische Bedeutung von sozialen Online-Netzwerken (S) (WiSe 2012/2013)

Soziale Netzwerkseiten (SNS) wie Facebook, Google+ oder Myspace nehmen in Leben von Kindern und Jugendlichen eine zunehmende Rolle ein. 73 % aller jugendlichen Internetnutzer im Alter von 13 bis 14 Jahren sind in einem solchen Netzwerk verankert. Obwohl der Zugang zu den SNS altersbeschränkt ist, werden die Nutzer immer jünger. In einer europäischen Untersuchung gaben 26 % der 9 bis 10 Jährigen an, ein SN-Profil zu besitzen. Im Seminar soll die Bedeutung dieser Netzwerke für die Entwicklung von Kindern untersucht werden. Es sollen zunächst entwicklungspsychologische Aspekte dargestellt werden, die für Untersuchung von SNS von Bedeutung sind (z.B. Entwicklung von Freundschaftsbeziehungen). Anschließend soll die Bedeutung der SNS aus entwicklungspsychologischer Perspektive untersucht und diskutiert werden. Dabei sollen sowohl der Aufbau solcher Online-Netzwerke dargestellt und untersucht werden als auch aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse und Herausforderungen an die Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft thematisiert werden. Als Arbeits- und Diskussionsgrundlage dienen im Wesentlichen aktuelle Forschungsbefunde sowie Recherchen der Teilnehmer.

Requirements for participation, required level

Aufgrund der Neuartigkeit des Themas wird vorwiegend auf wissenschaftliche Zeitschriftenartikel zurückgegriffen. Diese liegen häufig in englischer Sprache vor. Es wird daher die Bereitschaft vorausgesetzt, sich mit empirischen Fachartikeln in englischer Sprache auseinanderzusetzen.
