Am Mittwoch den 24. April fanden sich Kollegen und Mitarbeiter in Hörsaal X-E0-001 zur Abschiedsvorlesung von Reinhold Hedtke zusammen. Der Titel der etwa dreiviertelstündigen Vorlesung lautete "Anpassung an die Alternativlosigkeit? Zum Zustand der sozialwissenschaftlichen Sozialisation".

Eva Illouz – Niklas-Luhmann-Guest-Professor 2019
The Niklas-Luhmann-Guest-Professorship will be hold by Eva Illouz from Hebrew University in Jerusalem this year. Eva Illouz is professor at the the Department of Sociology and Anthropology since 2006. Her research interests include the field of Cultural Studies, Social and Cultural Anthropology, Cultural Sociology and Feminist Theory. She is an expert and well known for her research in sociology of culture, sociology of emotions, sociology of capitalism, and the effects of capitalism on emotional life. Her work is applied in many research disciplines, including literature, anthropology, and sociology.
During her stay at the Faculty of Sociology in Bielefeld from 19 June to July and for a second stay for two weeks in October Eva Illouz will hold a public lecture to the topic »What is Capitalist Subjectivity?« (19 June, 6 p.m., main building, H1). Moreover she will give a seminar entitled »The Paradoxes of Capitalism and Emotions« for doctoral researchers at the Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology (BGHS).

Public Lecture Held By Chiara Pierobon at The Ala-Too International University And at The Kyrgyz-National University (Kyrgyzstan)
On 2. and 3. April, Chiara Pierobon hold a public lecture on "Strengthening Civil Society Capacity as Development Actor: the EU Experience in Kyrgyzstan" at the Ala-Too International University and at the Kyrgyz-National University in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). The lecture explored the role and contributions of civil society in the development process looking at the case-study on the EU engagement in Kyrgyzstan. Many thanks to the organisers Prof. Dr. Nazira Momosheva and Prof. Dr. Aliia Maralbaeva for making it possible as well as to the participants for the interesting questions and stimulating discussion!
Chiara Pierobon Visited The EU Delegation in Kyrgyzstan
On 7. March Chiara Pierobon visited the EU Delegation in Kyrgyzstan with a group of students of the OSCE Academy. The event saw the participation of EU Ambassador Eduard Auer and Project Manager Luca Carapelli who answered questions about EU activities in Central Asia in the field of regional cooperation, trade and security issues.
