Die Studierenden bekommen einen Einblick in aktuell relevante Themen und Trends im Bereich der Medieninformatik, so dass sie in der Lage sind, ein grundsätzliches Verständnis dieser Technologie zu entwickeln und die Auswirkungen dieser rasanten Entwicklungen in der Medienlandschaft und der Gesellschaft einzuschätzen. Die Studierenden erwerben Fähigkeiten bei der Darstellung ihrer Recherchen in Form eines Vortrages und einer Ausarbeitung.

Content of teaching

Im Rahmen dieses Seminars werden aktuelle Themen der Medieninformatik behandelt, die von der Kompression von Bild- und Audiosignalen, über Möglichkeiten der Sonifikation, des Wearable Computings hin zu Grundlagen von Systemen der virtuellen und erweiterten Realität reichen. Zudem wird auf aktuelle Entwicklungen des Datenschutzes und des Urheberrechts in diesen Bereichen eingegangen. Diese Inhalte werden zum einen durch Präsentationen der Lehrperson vermittelt und zum anderen durch Vorträge der Studierenden erarbeitet, vorgestellt und diskutiert.
