International Summer School “Research in Religious Development. Theory, Methodology and Praxis”

Veröffentlicht am 27. September 2019

 Bielefeld International Summer School

“Research in Religious Development.

Theory, Methodology and Praxis”

Date: May 25 – 29, 2020

Location: Bielefeld, Germany

Participation fee: 200 €

Deadline for full application: November 30, 2019

Speakers include: Ralph Hood, Barbara Keller, Job Chen, Heinz Streib, and others.

This summer school is a service for researchers from all over the world, regardless of the country, religion or culture in which they study religious change and development. Due to our travel fund, which is made possible by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation, participation should not be restricted by economic or geographical conditions.

The summer school has the threefold aim of

(a) familiarizing with and discussing theory and methods (including hands-on learning) for studying religious change and development in the psychology of religion and related disciplines,

(b) assisting researchers, who are engaged in research with a developmental approach, or intend to include a developmental perspective in their study, in the elaboration and refinement of their research designs, and

(c) promote the networking among young researcher and senior, experienced researchers in this field of study.

Our expertise as organizers, presenters and advisors rests on twenty years of experience in cross-cultural, mixed-method research: Our Bielefeld-Chattanooga studies focus on biographical-reconstructive research, combined with psychometric approaches for investigating religious and spiritual experience, vertical and horizontal, religious styles, and the study of religious and biographical trajectories over time. Find more details here.

By November 30, 2019, you may submit your application for this summer school on the Application Page. Applications include a Letter of Intent and CV. Applicants will receive information about their acceptance by January 10, 2020. Find more information in the Information for applicants.
