Die Gastdozentin Ravit Talmi Cohn ist in Bielefeld angekommen.

Ravit Talmi Cohn ist Anthropologin und lehrt an der Tel Aviv University - (African Studies) und and der Jerusalem University (School of Social Work). Zudem forscht sie am Institution of Immigration and Social Integration am Ruppin College, wo sie sich aus anthropologischer Perspektive mit Themen der Einwanderung auseinandersetzt. Ihre bisherige Forschung beschäftigte sich mit dem Einwanderungsprozess von Äthiopien nach Israel. In dem siebenjährigen Forschungsprojekt hat sie die Bedeutung der Wanderung von einem Ort zum anderen, unter Berücksichtigung von Ort und Zeit, Migration als Reise und kulturellen Schwierigkeiten in der Realität der Globalisierung und Migration, aus anthropologischer Perspektive untersucht.

Zur Zeit beschäftigt sie sich mit den Themen: Asylsuchende vom afrikanischen Kontinent in Israel und französische Teenager, die neu in Israel sind.

Ravit Talmi Cohn is an anthropologist who lectures at Tel Aviv University - (African Studies) and Jerusalem University (School of Social Work). She is a researcher at the Institution of Immigration and Social Integration at Ruppin College and researches immigration issues from an anthropological point of view. Her research was about the Ethiopian immigration process from Ethiopia to Israel; were she conducted ethnographic research for seven years and analyzed the meaning of moving from one place to the other. She analyzed the meaning of making place & time, migration as a journey, cultural issues on the reality of globalization and migration. Currently, she is looking into two main issues, the asylum seekers from the African continent in Israel, and French teenagers who are newcomers to Israel.
