ICVR project papers authored by José Salguero (Project Paper No.5), Willian Carballo (No.11), Noemy Molina (No.7), Marlon Hernandez Anzora (No.6) and Sharon Gorenstein (No.2) have just been re-published in "Estudios Centroamericanos" (ECA). Prestigious ECA journal is published in San Salvador since 1946.
On September 2nd, 2015, ICVR associate José Alberto Salguero presented his paper “A Tale of Two Cities: Violent and Non Violent Neighborhoods within the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador” at the 15th Annual Conference of European Society of Criminology in Porto, Portugal. José, who holds a B.A. in Economics from the Fundación Dr. Guillemo Manuel Ungo in San Salvador, is currently working at the University of Göttingen.
From August 27th to 29th, 2015, Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Heitmeyer, formerly director and currently Senior Research Professor at IKG, participated in the first meeting of the International Panel on Social Progress (IPSP) in Istanbul. The meeting was attended by more than 200 senior academics from around the world. IPSP is compiling a "Social World Report", along the lines of the reports on climate change. Heitmeyer is the German member in Chapter 10 "Violence, Wars, Peace und Security". He is collaborating with Prof. Wiewiorka (France), Dr. Stepanova (Russia), Prof. Shinoda (Japan), Prof. Aggestam (Sweden), Prof. Bellamy (Australia), Prof. Wallensteen (Sweden), Dr. Baake (UK). All chapter groups are working on empirical trends and theoretical approaches. The chapter’s next meeting will take place in February 2016 in Paris.
