Start of BGHS Shortcuts-Programme 2015
Kerstin Schulte, Nicole Najemnik, Bettina Franke, Lina Peitz, Theresa Hornischer, Teresa Gärtner, Sophia Stockmann
Since the beginning of October seven female researchers from all over Germany take part in the Shortcuts programme of the BGHS. The women have successfully completed their MA-studies and intend to do a doctorate.
The Shortcuts programme promotes them actively in this transition by offering a four-month training programme in preparation for the doctorate. Five of the women also receive a scholarship for four months to prepare the project description for their dissertations.
The Shortcuts qualification programme consists of workshops that deal with fundamental issues for doctoral studies and assists the participants in preparing a project description of the dissertation - for instance with a workshop on academic writing. Other elements of the programme are a colloquium for professional support, regular exchanges with other doctoral researchers and information events to finance the dissertation.
